Welcome to the Cromwell Fire Department website! On behalf of the men and women of the Cromwell Fire Department, we thank you for visiting with us and having an interest in learning more about the Cromwell Fire Department.
The Cromwell Fire Department is an “All Hazard" department, meaning that we will respond to the needs of the community, regardless of the nature of the incident and begin the process of solving the problem while working towards a positive outcome. The fire department consists of highly trained men and women who are motivated, educated, and loyally focused on their core mission of service to the Cromwell community. We are fully committed to our community family and want you all to know that the fire department stands ready to assist you in your time of need, day or night, with compassion, professionalism, respect, and dignity.
The Cromwell Fire Department operates three fire stations and is responsible for the safety and protection of all visitors and residents of the town. The fire department is led by the Fire Chief with oversight from the Cromwell Fire Commission, a group of nine elected townspeople. The fire department is comprised of the Fire Chief’s Office (Fire Chief, 2 Asst. Chiefs, and a Secretary), Fire Marshal’s Office (Fire Marshal and several part-time fire inspectors / investigators), career firefighter/EMTS, part-time firefighter/EMTS, volunteer firefighters and EMTS, volunteer fire police, a district facilities maintainer, and a district mechanic. The fire department is staffed 24 hours a day with between 6-9 on duty full-time and part-time, cross trained, professional Firefighter/EMTS and are supplemented by a crew of dedicated volunteers which train weekly and respond when summoned for emergencies.
We are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to improve our level of service and dedication to the community by listening to our residents, embracing new ideas, and exploring new technologies. Our department continuously pursues opportunities to engage our community through public outreach, education, and reducing risk to our community by providing robust fire prevention classes incorporated through our community risk reduction efforts. Day in and day out, our staff continue to serve with the utmost professionalism, while providing a diverse range of high quality, cost effective, and progressive programs.
If we can be of any assistance or if you would just like to talk further, free to reach out, we would love to hear from you!
Jason Brade, Fire Chief
